Objective: The purpose of the study is to investigate the effects of task performance through open-ended questions on satisfaction with tasks and upper extremity functions of stroke patients.
Method: This study was conducted on 18 stroke victims. Jebsen-Taylor Hand Function Test(JHFT) were measured to determine the patient's upper extremity function. The Canadian Occupational Performance Measure(COPM) was evaluated to learn about the patient's task satisfaction and desired goals. The Goal Attachment Scale(GAS) was evaluated to determine the degree of achievement of the patient's desired goal.
Results: There were significant differences in JHFT, COPM, and GAS in task execution groups with open questions(p<.05).
Conclusion: Task performance through open question was an efficient training for the upper extremity function and task satisfaction of stroke patients, and was found to be suitable for the task therapist's role guidance in rehabilitation treatment.
